Our
pet in this vintage is composed of three different
lots Unti,
Teldeschi,
and Riebli Ranch. Each was fermented separately with extended
maceration for several additional weeks to smooth the tannins.
The final blend was assembled the following spring and bottled
unfined and unfiltered after 15 months of aging in all French
oak, 25% new.
Tasting Note: Dark ruby-purple.
Deep, dark aromas of rich earth, blackberry, blueberry, and
graham cracker. Full bodied but as smooth of a pet as youll
find. Despite the tannins, I typically like my pets young. Id
recommend enjoying this from late 2005 through 2009. (MRO -
