Our
best Sonoma County zin to date, all the components for this
wine are from venerable old-vine, low-yielding vineyards planted
between 1905 and 1922. Each component was a fantastic wine in
its own right but we decided to blend them to create something
greater than the sum of the parts. It was bottled unfined and
unfiltered after 15 months of barrel aging.
Tasting Note: Medium-dark to
dark ruby. The nose is an explosion of red and black berry fruits
intermixed with briary spice. Full-bodied but with sufficient
acidity to keep the wine fresh and lively on the palate. Peak
enjoyment for this wine should be from 2006 through 2009. (MRO
